I tried reading this to my three year old, and honestly, it was a tough one. It was a pretty dry read. Informative for sure, so I’m certain an older child studying St. Patrick would find it useful. However, if you’re looking for a book for little kids, I’d recommend _The Story of St. Patrick’s Day_ by Patricia Pingry.

Thought I was buying a kids book, from a kind of religious perspective. The pictures are black and white and it's all about the life Saint Patrick had before going to Ireland as a bishop. So basically the opposite of everything I was looking for in a book about Saint Patrick

Perfect for children aged 4-9. The story is told beautifully and concentrates on the character of a true saint.I'm glad saints as role models are coming back into fashion with the surge in interest in Waldorf education.

Even my 3 yr old enjoyed this book. I loved being able to find out the Christian basis for this great preacher. I am Protestant and still thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to use it every year.

I love it!! It is definitely what we need our children to learn about-God's awesome love for all of us no matter where or what type of situation we are in he can get us through it all with his power that is very real. The children will know where the holiday truly came from and why we celebrate this wonderful saint.

A little wordy for my 6y/o but they did a good job of making it kid friendly otherwise.

This was a great little book to read with my kids. We had to cover it over a few nights because they have a short attention span, but I liked to story!

This book is a wonderful teaching aid. My Grandnephew loved it. Just enough pages for a young reader.

I grew up with this beautiful story, have given it as a gift so many times over the last two decades.Finally, I have a grandchild of my own on the way so I ordered it immediately. I have never beenso disappointed. First of all I, like many others, didn't notice that they have shrunk the book down to asize that takes away from the beautiful illustrations, they also included a necklace which is not an assetto the story along, that along with a very large sticker warning of choking hazards (covering up part ofthe author information)...and when I tried to remove it,part of it stuck to the book and left a white, torn, sticky mess. Ruined the moment for sure. Willnot be giving to my grandchild or anyone else.

If you want to read a great book with a great lesson this is it. I bought this and read it to my 6 year old. She loved the story- it really stressed many points about being kind and wise as well as never giving up on your dreams. Very appropriate for many ages and one that we will read over many times and learn new lessons regarding helping out, kindness, caring.... It is great book for adults too.... especially parents like myself that often do things for my child that I should be teaching my child to do herself to teach responsibility. This is a great book to have on the shelf.

I used to have this book when I was little, and I wanted my daughter to read it, too. While the story itself merits 5 stars, this edition was disappointing. The size of the book is fairly small with large chunks of text on each page. It seems that they condensed it down to fewer pages with less pictures and more text (as far as I can remember). I actually didn't even notice that it came with a necklace when I bought it, and my daughter thinks it's just part of the book, so we haven't tested its durability yet.

I think this is one of my favorite children's books. I love that it was written almost 100 years ago and has a strong message. There is a female bunny that is "just" a country bunny and not a "fine rabbit" she has lots of children and the fine rabbits see her as useless in their world and stupid to have so many children. However, she has shown herself to be wise and capable of greatness and that shines through when she is chosen to be one of the many Easter Bunnies that deliver eggs around the world. My emotions went from anger to tears as I read it for the first time. I think it's a book that should be on every child's bookshelf. Maybe Dolly Parton could make it a part of her Imagination Library so more parents and children can know the joy of this beautiful story. It's a great book about how a woman can accomplish anything in this world no matter her station in life and how others view her.

The image fails to show the large sticker which is on the front of the book that says "CHOKING HAZARD - Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years of age" … I understand the need for safety warnings but the sticker is not removable. The cover of the book is completely destroyed by this sticker and is definitely NOT represented in the images. I'd return it if I had time to get a new one before Easter.

I have to agree with the others - I did not realize they shrunk this book down from it's original size. The one that arrived was about 5x7". And it had the impossible-to-remove warning sticker. The story itself is wonderful, just don't order this copy.

My daughter, 4, has always been a stickler for details and is frustrated with most picture books that just tell a simple story about the day of Easter, hiding eggs. She wanted to know how did the Easter bunny become just that! I poured through many books but found little or no backstory. Until this book.Not only is the heroine a mother, but boldly blazes a path in the male dominated business of Easter. It explains that it's actually a team of rabbits, encouraging good moral traits. My daughter drank this up and is finally satisfied with her Easter bunny questions. While a long story, and detailed, it's plot is simple and characters few so that even the youngest can follow. Another wonderful aspect is the language. Unlike modern books which are jarring dialogue (or mindless) with no rhythm when spoken aloud, this book is from another epoch when people still used lovely words that evoke delightful pictures and in a flowing pattern. It is a delight to read 3x a day or more. And to see her sigh at the end, satisfied, which so many of her other books lack ability to do, is the best part.So if your looking for an untraditional twist with greater detail to the classic Easter Bunny stories, give this a try. My only issue is the small number of illustrations as it is geared not as a picture book but early reader.

I've loved this story since I was a little girl and just purchased it for my daughter. It's a sweet, beautiful story about a country bunny who chose to be kind, wise, and brave, and in the end was rewarded for her goodness. It's a simple concept but such an important sentiment, and the illustrations are timeless and wonderful! I never even believed in the Easter Bunny, but this was one of my very favorite childhood books.

A must read for Olivia fans! This is a great reading experience. The story of her remarkable life is shared with dignity and aplomb. This IS NOT a sordid tell all. It is a book that makes you feel like a better person just because you have read it. While i initially purchased the book to read about Olivia's romances, (and she does generously share those details), it is the spirituality of her book that drew me in and kept me turning the pages. I was pleasantly surprised and highly recommend.

Very much so and told in an endearing and at times painful manner. I loved it and recommend it as a must read for fans of hers and everyone who remembers seeing the movie with their own "Romeo" or "Juliet." Olivia's worked with some of the best in the business and tells of her encounters with most that we-the-public would know of in a straightforward and honest way. Great read and I was sorry that the book ended!

Did not expect the book to be such a great read, but it is! Could NOT put it down! So honest and real, and though we are same age, total dif lives, really could identify with her life and times we lived in heart broken when Dean Paul died, but didn't know she was living "happily ever after" with David Eisley. I recall his Dad, from Hawaiian Eye tv series..Just a wonderful book to read. Really enjoyed it.. Good Job Olivia,and Alex. .Would love to see what either of you write next..

Considering that the book was written by her and her son, it is surprising that her distinctive voice comes through so strongly.It is well written, revealing, entertaining and a pleasure to read.

this autobiography is amazing, I have always been a huge fan of Olivia Hussey so I was dying to read her book. What an interesting life she lead, it makes you feel like you know her in person. Highly recommend, you'll not regret it.

For anyone who, like me, watched Franco Zeffirelli's "Romeo and Juliet" and never forgot the magic of it . . . and Olivia Hussey, this is a book that you will truly enjoy. Movie stars don't always live perfect happily-ever-after lives, but they LIVE LIFE. And that's what Olivia Hussey did. She's lived it. And, so much of it is here in this book. The behind the scenes looks into her many movies and the actors she worked with. Through the bad times and the wonderful. I loved it all and wish her a very happy rest of her amazing life!

I was obsessed with the movie Romeo &Juliet. Leonard Whiting was my 1st movie star crush and I was soooooo jealous of Olivia Hussey's beauty and the fact that she was kissing Leonard. I couldnt wait to read about whether or not "they did it" (they didn't). It was enjoyable to read about her life after this movie. Anyone who grew up in the period of this movie would find this book very interesting.

Really enjoyed catching up with Olivia His set. Read it right away.

This book is a must for anyone who works with ggplot2. There are so many excellent graph images, that I often flip through the book when I'm trying to figure out how to create a specific plot, but may not know what it is called.

If you want to create great graphs using 'R' then this is the book you need. There are clear and easy to follow recipes for scatter plots, box plots, line graphs, bar graphs, histograms, function curves, dot plots, frequency polygons, heat maps, dendrograms, and many more - including a selection of 3D graphs. There are chapters on how to enhance your graphs - controlling axes, annotations, legends, etc. Also included is all the information you should need on how to manipulate your data.Basic versions of each type are followed by step by guides on making more sophisticated versions. Using bar graphs as an example, the basic version is followed by instructions on how to group bars, use colours, make a stacked bar graph, adjust bar width and height, and so on.I have had a copy of the first edition for several years so the fact that I've bought the second edition should give you an idea of how highly I rate it. The chapter headings of the 2nd ed are the same as the first and there are about 30 more pages, so the changes are not radical. For me I think it was worth upgrading but I don't know if it would be so for everyone.

Just got my copy and it is lovely! Clear directions, with many helpful hints on how to make rep weaving easier. Beautiful projects and a section on designing your own projects. She assumes you already know how to do basic warping and doesn't include that (Thank you!) and instead uses the space to describe what rep is and gives clear, concise explanations of her weaving notation, threading and treadling and offers several alternative treadling methods. I initially had some misgivings about the 'games' portion of the design section, but now that I see it, I understand its value. Patterns are given for 2, 4 and 8 harness looms. This one is a keeper!!

I really like this book. I've been weaving for 20 years, but never did much rep weaving. Beautiful pictures and patterns. I just finished the project from the book called Double Steps and was very intimidated at the beginning. It was a very dense warp that had to be sleyed on two levels. But her instructions throughout the book were concise and spot on. I felt like she was holding my hand throughout the weaving process. Very well-written; highly recommend.

I have Kindle Unlimited, which I would recommend all avid readers look into, and rarely buy books anymore. However, I now own this entire series because these books are addicting. Buyer beware. If you start you will probably be into buying them all.

I have enjoyed reading this series.I like the way it is written, and I like the story.I like the fact that one of the characters loves horses and loves riding, but does not want to show. And there are also characters who really enjoy showing. It is a nice balanced view that there can be more than one way to interact with horses.

I am enjoying this series very much. The characters have all made major live changing decisions. For the good. Cannot 2ait to read the whole series

As the holiday season approaches, so does the trip for the show season for Greer, Lockie, and Cam. Talia is left behind to manage Bittersweet Farm, and the fall-out from Victoria's scandalous new project. As I've come to expect from Ms. Morgenroth, the book is well written, and the story keeps evolving, leaving the reader anxious for the next installment in the series.

This whole series is an interestingly developing story, particularly about the world of horse training and rider training. It is taking a little too long to get from one installment to the next, but this one was probably the best yet. Interesting characters, good side stories, good development of conflicts and solutions of some of them. A little too much repetition, but I am waiting for the next issue!

As time for the show season comes so do the holidays. Locke,Greer and Cam are off leaving Talia behind to deal with what happens at Bittersweet Farm, and unfortunately Victoria and her scandalous new book are part of it. The story keeps evolving and does not disappoint in this well written book. Looking forward to Book 6.

Barbara Morgenroth writes for all ages. I've always loved horses and reading. The thing that impresses me about this author is that she can keep her stories interesting without explicit sex or gore. I am not narrow-minded at all, however, one of the first things that I noticed about her writing is that a ten year-old could read them without getting an early education. They show examples of positive behavior and kindness and compassion for animals that everyone needs to understand.

I'm an adult and I LOVED all 5 books! Your characters your horses your setting your description of food and meals! Such a warm and heartfelt story...I'm so sad to have finished the series and can't wait for book 6. I never want to stop reading about these wonderful horses and people.

Pico's Teebs trilogy of book-length poems concludes with Junk, a paean to a break-up and to all that one loves that may not be entirely good for you. Pico's style here has changed: he uses longer lines than in his other two b00k-length poems made up of highly enjambed couplets. Pico maintains the stream-of-consciousness writing mixing textspeak, slang, and his general manic lyricism, but the change in the form actually does affect the reading. Junk's couplet's read like status updates instead of texts and blog ruminations that worked through his other two poems. He also concludes his panoply of pop cultural references, jokes, in-jokes, musing on identity, and ruminations of grief. Pico's gift from moving from the flippant to the utterly sincere shines here, and the theme of loss allows a slightly more mature sensibility to emerge from the prior two books. Many will feel like this invokes the Beats, particularly Ginsberg, and, for good and ill, it does, but ultimately, Pico's trilogy is a triumph that manages to be immediately contemporary and yet I can see myself reading in two decades.
