As always Sean and Tommy leave you laughing and waiting with anticipation for their next adventure. Even though I am privileged to be an advanced reader I also purchased a copy to support my favorite new author. No matter what I may be reading, when I receive notice that my next Ernest Dempsey book is available, I drop everything and immediately download my advance copy. I know that I will be totally involved and entertained until I finish said book. I love the characters, their humor their dedication to one another and their cause. I also find the historical information fascinating and this comes from someone who never understood people's fascination with it. I strongly recommend this series and this author. Keep them coming Mr. Dempsey. I anxiously await!!!!!!
Each story just gets better. Mr. Dempsey has created a likable protagonist with quite a variety of sidekicks, all combined to make a tale worth reading. There's danger, adventure, a touch of romance, and a satisfying conclusion. This story blends history with the legend of King Arthur and Excalibur. Add in some devious villains and some reluctant allies, and you got a mix for a few hours of exciting reading. If you're a fan of James Rollins or Matthew Reilly, give Mr. Dempsey's books a try.
I saw the Kindle version of this book advertised at a reduced price, so I grabbed it. This was my introduction to the Sean Wyatt series, and I plan to read more. The only thing that kept me from giving the fifth star is that the fight scenes (and there are several) went on a bit too long to hold my interest. The plot offered enough surprises to keep my interest, and I learned a lot of history along the way (including scenes set in places I'd visited in Europe). Nice work, Mr. Dempsey.
This is my first Sean Wyatt Thriller. The story line kept my interest, but I kept thinking that one character who had not been developed at all, June, must be a character to be developed into a villain at the end of the book. Much to my surprise, that was not the case. She was never given more than a nod. Truly unimportant, so why even introduce her? I enjoyed the story line. But I often wonder how the guys with the white hats along with the evil villains can afford to jet all over the country. Who pays for all that? Just a novel, I need to remind myself, but it certainly makes it very unrealistic.
Wow! Although this is the 11th entry in the Sean Wyatt series, author Ernest Dempsey has been able to keep his readers engaged and eager for more. I can't remember who said that all literature has one of seven basic plots. Well, this series' plot line is: two boyhood friends become intrepid adventurers and travel the world seeking lost treasures, returning them to their rightful places and keeping them out of the hands of bad guys with evil intentions. But it's what Dempsey hangs on his plot lines that makes his stories "un-put-down-able." His main characters grow richer in depth as we learn more about them in each new outing and the stories grow more colorful with more surprises and twists. And THE EXCALIBER KEY is no exception. The major plot twist here is an absolute stunner that changes everything.If you've never read Ernest Dempsey's "Sean Wyatt Thrillers," please do yourself a favor and start reading them now! I suggest reading them in order -- although each book is a standalone novel (no cliffhangers), each new entry builds upon the history between the characters from the previous books. I just love this series!
The Excalibur Key was an edge of your seat thriller!!!! This author knows how to grab the reader in the first paragraph and not let go!!! This adventure ride was very exciting and fast paced!!! The story just wouldn't let you put the book down Sean Wyatt and Tommy Shultz are exceptional characters. This author keeps the plot so exciting and makes the reader feel as though they are right there with these two awesome adventurers!! It was historically interesting and it was a great read!!! I can't wait for the next thrilling adventure these two characters get themselves involved in. They really are hero's and their adventures are totally believable. They feel like old friends to this reader, who would never miss a new Ernest Dempsey book!!!!
Tommy, Sean, Adrianna and a few new folks are at it again this time looking for Excalibur wit the Koreans on thier heels. This is yet another fun adventure from an author that is becoming more and more well known. His characters are people you know like your own old friends. The stories are well written and show a lot of research and effort went into them. If you are a fan of James Rollins or other writers of archiological adventures and enjoy a good surprise thrown in here and there you have to check out this series. It's well worth your money and time. You will love these books. I do get to read the advanced copy in return for a review but was buying the series before I started doing that and always buy the final release copy to support an author I want to see more from.
I've been reading this series since the beginning, and it's been so interesting to watch the growth of this fine young author! Each book gets better, and the writing is smoother and flows nicely. Sean and Tommy get out of one predicament after another. And something nice happens to Tommy! There's a lot of good history, also. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review, but I bought the book to support this young author. I'll be waiting for the next book!
